There shall be a code of conduct as spelt in schedule (3) of the Constitution. It shall be binding on all officials of NANS-Ghana.


a. An official of NANS-Ghana Chapter shall: -

i.Not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicts with his duties and responsibilities.

ii.Not be a member or, belong to, or take part in the activities of any society or organization whose membership is incompatible with the functions or duties of his office;

iii.Not ask for or accept any property or benefits of any kind for himself or any other person on account of anything done; or omitted to be done by him in the discharge or his duties.

iv.Not do, or direct to be done in abuse of his office, any arbitrary act prejudicial to the rights of any other person knowing that such act is unlawful or contrary to the provisions of this constitution;

v.Conduct himself inside and outside Ghana in such a way as to enhance the dignity of the Nation and shall avoid any action that might bring dishonor or discredit to NANS-Ghana Chapter.

vi.All grievances must be dealt with through available internal mechanisms; any aggrieved aspirant or contestant is prohibited from petitioning any member, officials or structure of NANS GHANA to an external institution or organization in order to seek remedy on any electoral outcome. (EXTERNAL INSTITUTIONS or ORGANISATIONS herein refers to the Nigeria High Commission, ethnic community associations in Ghana and any committee or council not stated in this constitution)

vii.All petitions should be forwarded to the judicial council; in situations where judicial council could not sit for hearing, all petitions should be directed to the Presidential Advisory council or the Patrons of our association and their decisions on any conflict resolutions shall be final and binding on all.



i.Any active student from any of Ghana’s Institutions of higher learning whose membership of NANS-Ghana Chapter is not in doubt, shall be eligible to hold an Executive post in NANS-Ghana; Should he/she hold any elected office in his/her institution, he/she must compulsorily have to relinquish that institutions post for the national assignment of NANS GHANA CHAPTER.

ii.He has to unambiguously satisfy the Electoral Requirement as stipulated under this constitution.

iii.Must have a valid resident permit in Ghana in order to hold any position in NANS-Ghana Chapter. Any aspiring Nigerian Student who does not have a student resident permit shall be required to submit a copy of introductory letter from his/her institution inclusive with any expired resident permit in Ghana.

iv.Must provide copies of admission letter, school ID card and current school fee receipts;

v.A student who wishes to hold any executive position must not be a first year student (fresher) but can be a final year student or student on a postgraduate studies.
